As I said in my own post, I was very turned off by the "Shitbox" scene at the brothel. I don't need that level of crudeness. I don't need the show to prove it's self by being "edgy" with scenes like that.

Anne Rice's stories have a subdued, elegant romance, and that scene really missed the mark.

It did get better once Lestat entered, the small snipet of his past, the monastery story of the second book reminds me that Lestat's story is the more compelling one for a series.

but Louis doesn't really seem like Louis, the quiet suffering soul, he was crude and short tempered, even small things like his dismissing of the opera, and disgust at his brother made it hard for me to see him as Louis.
