Upvoted, I don't care about the story being good or bad, thats mostly up to preference.

My problem is the gameplay loop, it was decent enough in TLOU1 (even if I dislike it) as something to do between cutscenes, but it was the weakest part. TLOU2 does mostly the same gameplay, a weak stealth mechanic, decent shooting, crafting thats not deep in any meaningful way

TLOU2 is a game where the gameplay is the weakest part, and when thats the case then why is it a game on the first place? It can't be to put the player on the shoes of the protagonist, as the game gives you no freedom of choice.

For some context, this is coming from someone who played TLOU1 and thought the gameplay was boring and the story to be super dumb.
