Less than $6 for a Gino’s East deep dish. Is this new, I’d never seen this at my Aldi before

Heating this pizza is a very tricky affair. If you follow the instructions (50 minutes @ 375 degrees) you will get perfectly cooked pizza crust... with an undercooked, cold pizza center.

If you extend the cooking time to 60 minutes @ 375 degrees, you will get a properly cooked pizza center. But the crust will get burnt to a rock hard crisp. This was on a toaster oven though, and only the sides of the crust closest to the heating element got burnt. On a larger oven, it may not have that problem.

It's best to cook the pizza on a rack as instructed (not a pan). The crust needs air circulation to cook properly, otherwise you'll get a soggy mess. But drippings are a fire hazard, so you'll want to use two racks. The lower rack should be lined with aluminum foil to catch drips. Then the rack above it will hold the pizza itself.

The instructions say wait 5 minutes before serving. But 5 minutes is not nearly enough. I let it cool on a rack for 15 minutes before serving.
