Let’s talk about Brentford

Brentford are my favourite team and I watch them very closely. Had my eye on their assets GW1 & 2 due to this good run of fixtures coming up. I think I have settled on bringing in Dasilva (bench) & Toney for Coutinho (don't ask!) & Archer.

In general Brentford are a good team with a top manager and strong gameplan/tactical setup/system. Due to their moneyball approach their players are all extremely talented if a little raw. I liken them to Brighton with similarly talented players but a slightly less strong system.

Let's talk through some of their assets!

Raya is a very, very good GK. Was nailed in my (and most people's) team for a while until the template changed to Ramsdale/Ederson. One of the top GKs with the ball at his feet and great distribution. Commanding with crosses amd makes saves - all leads to decent BPS potential.

In defence I think all of their options are worse picks than Raya, but if you're happy with your GK then a 4.5m defender may still be a good choice. None of them offer much attacking threat - Henry + Hickey are somewhat attacking wing-backs but aren't the best statistically. All the CBs are decent in the air and a threat from set-pieces but for some reason haven't scored that many.

Midfield is a minefield. Dasilva is the flavour of the month and I am so happy for him after his long-term injury. Still wouldn't say he is nailed and can see him benched every so often. Great bench player but wouldn't have him in my starting 11 every week; he can play a similar role to Andreas Pereira in that they can cover for when your defenders play City etc. Damsgaard could be a top option if nailed but I expect him to be eased in. Wissa doesn't have a spot in the team if they play 5ATB (where they perform best IMO) but will still get some sub appearances against tired legs.

We all know Toney & Mbeumo. Both great picks IMO. Toney is the talisman and almost everything goes through him; long balls sent up to him to win in the air, target from set-pieces. His passing/playmaking ability is still very underrated too (see his assist for Mbeumo yesterday). Penalties is always a nice bonus too. Mbeumo is usually the furthest forward Brentford are my favourite team and I watch them very closely. Had my eye on their assets GW1 & 2 due to this good run of fixtures coming up. Has been labelled as a poor finisher but I think it's been exaggerated a bit; he's not the best but has been very unlucky - good option if you can't afford Toney.

Any other questions about players I didn't mention just ask away and I will do my best to answer!
