Let's raise the bar for new Canadians, not lower it

ya cause it's not your culture, you don't see it because it's not yours.

Everything I do is a part of Canada's culture. I woke up today, went to work for 8 hours like most people, drove my car like most do, and stopped in a drive thru for a coffee. I said "Thank You" as expected, and drove off.

Boom, there, that's the culture, it's not yours, but it's culture, it doesn't have to be ancient to be cultural. Being composed and polite in public, but fake friendly is a part of Canadian culture. Smiling, saying thank you, obeying the queue, holding doors for people. That is a part of our society.

You are just as nuts that as the people that say America doesn't have any culture, you are just biased, and again are most likely equating antiquity with culture.

Do you have a cottage, or ever go to a cottage for summer breaks? Have you ever been camping? Have you ever been fishing? Have you ever been hunting? Have you ever been snowmobiling? Have you ever been snowboarding/ skiing? Have you ever been to a sugar shack? Have you ever been to a lobster hut? Have you ever been to a log throwing competition? Have you ever been to an ice sculpting exhibit?

Have you been to Carnival d'hiver, the Calgary Stampede, Winterlude, Just for Laughs, even the Exhibition?

It's all a part of Canada's culture, maybe you just don't like it.

Strip malls and drive thrus and suburbs, are also a part of our culture. Just because they're new doesn't mean it's not culture, you again just don't like it. Ok good for you, go home then.

I could go on and on about Canada's culture, we are freaking North Americans, the USA and Canada are very similar, baseball and apple pie are just as much Canadian.

All those immigrant you talked to need to go home.
