Live Episode Discussion: S22E01 - "Dead Kids" [Season Premiere]

Sure, the Associated Press, NPR, the New York Times, The Washington Post, and many more. That is to say, when they report a story they do their due diligence and employ many fact checkers and copy-editors to vet their news stories. These stories are not merely sent out by a reporter but a reporter who is held to very high standards of sourcing and that sourcing is verified each and every time by numerous people. When you see a story from these outlets you can trust that they have made a serious effort to ensure what they are reporting is true. You can't say that for the facebook comments, reddit, or the vast majority of would-be news/sites and blogs that spring out of the woodwork each and every day. I am not saying these sources are God's word incarnate, but that when they assert something you can rest assured they have evidence to back it up. Do sources string them along and even lie to them, sure see the Iraq war. But if that's not good enough, then you might also be the type prepping for the apocalypse and yelling at passersby that the sun may not rise in the morning, after all, how can we be 100% sure?

Also, how in the world is the wage gap skewed? It's an objective fact that women make 78% of what men make on average. It's also an objective fact that when you control for levels of education, time spent in the labor force, types of degrees obtained, and more the wage gap shrinks to something like 95%, still statistically significant nonetheless. And maybe we should ask the question why men/women self-segregate into certain careers and how work-life balance, and whom the burden often falls on to raise children affects how much men and women earn. Well performed statistical research does not lie.

Anyway, I think I've been taken into a rabbit hole. This is a Southpark thread. I thought this was a great episode.
