It’s not a harem book, and it’ definitely not in line with this subs expectations. The MC is OP in terms of knowledge and the book is more about civilization building and conflicts between nations. The MC eventually has two wives by book three iirc, but no more. It does have somewhat explicit sex scenes but they are not as often as HaremLit. It’s high stakes and the world isn’t exactly light but it’s not super dark either. Beware though, his second wife goes through horrifying situations as a women prisoner of war by the enemies, but that’s before the MC ever meets her, and irrc it’s not super explicit and that’s the only arc about it. It’s not a theme throughout the whole series (atleast first 4 books). Though I can’t make a broad generalization since I’ve only read a few western HaremLit, and no offence intended to the authors, but if a typical western HaremLit is of the same quality as “Aether’s Blessing” and “Towers of Acalia”, even though I personally loved them, they are more similar to Light Novel standards in terms of story and writing quality in my opinion. I would consider “Destiny’s Crucible” series to be more like a typical fantasy novel (though it’s not fantasy). Basically think of it as a more serious isekai.
