Not really a fan of freemium games and usually favor premium titles/pay-once. But there are a few freemium titles I can't get enough of: Hearthstone, Pac-Man 256, Pokémon Shuffle, and Phoenix 2. I feel it necessary to point out my preference as to illustrate just how much I love those 4 titles. Hearthstone especially doesn't feel like a freemium title as there are zero ads, it has a daily quests that allow you to unlock coins in which you can use as entry to The Arena, get card packs, and save up to unlock the solo adventures if you don't want to spend money on any of it. You can hold up to 3 quests at a time so you don't get overwhelmed on trying to complete them too and sometimes you can combine them if both requires you to say win 3 games as Mage class in ranked mode. Anyway, I hadn't felt the need to spend any real money on Hearthstone for the first year of playing until I decided to purchase the Mediev Mage class reskin and some of the solo adventures, along with a few card packs here and there just for the hell of it. It's a card game, but it feels more like an RPG and you get rewarded for doing well while being able to play with strangers for most games (unless you opt for solo adventures or practice mode, of course). Give it a shot if you haven't already.
