Lost reboot, what do you hope for?

There are a lot of well-considered points here and I thank you for it.

I do want it to be the same universe and I have been thinking, for weeks, about how we could work Hurley, Ben, and Walt in. My issue is that as long as Hurley is the steward of the island I feel as though it would be hard to pull together a plot. He's not mysterious, deceitful, or manipulative. Neither is Walt for that matter. The only way I imagine it working is if maybe Ben killed Hurley and took his job somehow. Perhaps a reversal in which Ben tosses Walt into the source and Walt becomes the "smoke monster" (albeit a well-meaning one) and Ben takes the role of a cruel and tyrannical guardian of the island. This would contradict Hurley and Ben's greeting in "The End" but I don't really see much other way to continue this continuity.

I'm not against having the kids show up but I don't feel it is necessary.

My template for this reboot, or any reboot, is the most recent Planet of the Apes series. This trilogy changed my mind about reboots entirely, as it was gifted and beautiful. After seeing this I no longer believe that reboots have to be soulless crash grabs and find no reason to believe so.

Seriously though, thanks for providing a creative and reasonable perspective on this.
