I’m just going to post a bunch of comments here as I go through the seasons or remember stuff [SPOILERS]

Also, I just have to say...Jessica is "17," and Hoyt and Jason are what...28, 29 years old? I'm sorry but that just isnt right.

Technically, Jessica was 18 when she began dating Jason since a year passed after she was turned. And the legal age of consent in Louisiana is 17, so both relationships with Hoyt and Jason were consensual.

I agree that the age difference between Jessica and Hoyt/Jason is a little uncomfortable (although not as gross as if there had been a 20-30 year age difference), but that didn't bother me as much as the lack of maturity in both relationships.

I will at least say that Jessica and Jason eventually realized their relationship was never going to work and opted to remain friends. I liked that, and thought was a good example of character development from both of them. Hoyt and Jessica on the other hand never grew in their relationship, and the show never truly addressed the issues that broke them apart in the first place. It just glossed over them, and their marriage at the end of the show was unearned.
