Whenever someone challenges you that “there is no proof of Mahabharata of Ramayana battles” tell them this.

Anybody that asks the question, “OK, but where did all this happen?”. Has missed the point entirely.

If I make up a parable about a chef who left something in the oven too long, and burnt down his restaurant. The point of the story isn’t “who was this chef, and let me see the report from the fire department so I know it happened”, the point is to not leave things in too long and unattended especially.

I hope it didn’t happen. I’d hate for that many people to have lost their lives. Their actual deaths don’t better or enhance the teachings. Anymore so than, an actual fire needs to happen for me to start being more careful my own oven.
