Are you experiencing the Mandela Effect? If you're not then it's pointless whatever I say.

If you are, then you'll understand when I say Mars was confirmed by science as a dead planet in my previous reality. Several landers had been sent to carry out experiments and send back results. They'd used very powerful telescopes to view the planet. I've seen multiple pictures of mars. It was a bigger planet than the current one in my old reality. No trace of water and definitely no icecap. The only way we could have inhabited mars was to transport the equipment to produce water there. In this reality, it always had an icecap so by default it always had water.

I actually feel disheartened that I'm having to argue this with people on Retconned.
