A friend in mine who is a child development professional posited that the dominant function develops as a response to anxiety regarding your closest primary caregiver’s inferior function. The dominant function being the earliest to develop, it’s isolation coincides with the era in which a child begins to comprehend that they are a separate entity from their mother. It makes sense that children would develop whatever function allowed them to best “complete” their mother or mother-approximate figure. So, for you Te doms->Fi inf, your children would be more likely to be Fi or Fe dominant. I thought that was an interesting theory. It’s relevant on our small sample size (both intuition doms with Si dom mothers.)
