Minutes distribution amongst the squad - 40 games in

  1. Costa hasn't performed as well in the CL recently because he hasn't been getting service. It's hard for a striker, especially a poacher type who doesn't dribble or create his own chances outside of off the ball positioning, to perform well when we park it against PSG. Even if we had Aguero or Suarez it wouldn't matter with how we played after we got that first goal against PSG.

  2. As much as I love Drogba, I agree. He needs to be reduced to a late sub when we need some hold up play either because we're down with limited time. Remy should get the go in every other situation IMO.

  3. I don't think Fabregas or Costa are being complacent at all. Fabregas hasn't been as effective because our midfield is getting dominated without Matic and he hasn't played well in the 10 role ahead of the double pivot we try occasionally. Costa's in a minor slump of form but you can never say he doesn't give effort. He plays hard every minute he's on even if he's not scoring.

  4. Completely disagree about benching Oscar. He was inconsistent early on but he's in a good form now. Even when he's not at his best, he's still a key player in terms of his work rate. He makes that transition from defense to offense so smooth. He also works really well with Fabregas as they interchange positions quite often if you pay close attention. Willian is okay at the 10 role, but he's nowhere near as good as Oscar when it comes to going forward. He's better defensively, but Oscar offers much better dribbling in tight situations, passing and shooting. That one game where he was the 10 role for the last few minutes, he got the late winning came from the right wing, where Willian plays normally anyway.

  5. Ramires has gotten plenty of chances this season so don't know what you're talking about when it comes to getting a "few games" every now and then. Cuadrado on the other hand has played in what, every game barring one? He's getting plenty of chances.
