I won't come that far to say he is deadwood, he is a good player, no denying about that.

He did fit Tuchel's system with his abilities to counter-press, but his attacking was never world class, far from it. Inconsistent. He has 5 open play assists in 4 years in the Prem, that is just ridicilously low for an ATTACKING midfielder, even as an number 8 Mount is more of an attacker than a player with a defensive role, this is his main skill - attacking and he isn't even close to players in rival clubs.

So, yes the guy above you is right that we have better players than Mount right now. Is he deadwood? Nah, he is a good player, but not as good as people say. He definitely has to improve in order to be a regular starter for a club that has ambition to win titles consistently. We need more than Mason Mount has to offer in that midfield, i don't think you can deny this.
