Moving from Brisbane to Toowoomba

Am I supposed to feel bad or apologise or something that the housing "crisis" doesn't apply to me? There's a lot of people out there that if they simply paid more attention to the shit they posted on their public Facebook profile, it wouldn't apply to them either.

I still stand by my comment that it doesn't exist in the way it's portrayed online. Everyone online making it out to be some massive crisis that's affecting everyone regardless of who you are. That's simply not true. Anyone that's asked about rentals on Facebook etc is shot down by every salty person who's been rejected recently for a place telling them they have no chance. I'm immediately being told I don't have a chance to get a place, but I don't fall into the demographic affected by the "crisis". I don't call it a crisis because it's restricted to a minority of people that are undesirable to landlords.

I'm not saying it's fair, I'm not saying I agree with it, I'm not arguing for it. I'm simply stating facts. Single parent, pets, low income, these are all undesirable whether people like it or not.

For what it's worth. I actually own an investment property I rent out. I pay less to rent where I live, than I charge to rent my place. So I make a profit and someone else pays off my house for me. I've never rented to people with pets or young single parents. Pets can too easily cause damage. And if you rent to young single parents you take on a lot of risk that if they lose their job they don't have a second income for a safety net. It's just a smart business decision.
