Everyone on this sub clearly likes these memes regardless of how they look. But will the people spend time reading it elsewhere?

There is something called design paradigms. When it comes to effectively designed image macros the main thing is for the text to be readable and identifiable with in seconds. Why do you think the most popular image macros use that font lame ass IMPACT font? Simple its readable, identifiable, and already meets the subconscious expectations of what a meme is "suppose to look like".
