So here's my ideal draft. There's no crazy stuff, we don't get mariota, there are potential trades.

I'll be honest with you man. I think you're just regurgitating what you've read on the Internet. What the hell does "a combine warrior" even mean to you? That he's stupid athletic right? And would you agree that being athletic and talented like that helps you play football?

Okay, so why do people like arik armstead? Super athletic, measurables Why do people still think dion Jordan can be something in this league? Super athletic, measurables. So what's the only downside to dion Jordan then? Oh his character? Oh you mean character like Byron jones has? Oh, you're telling me that Byron jones is by far the most athletic person in the entire draft at any position, and he's a great person and highly intelligent?

Since when do people get criticized for being athletic, that doesn't even make sense when talking about an athlete. Everything other than character and athleticism is COACHABLE. So you don't like Byron jones because you don't think our coaching staff is possible of getting production out of him or improving his technique? I don't get the downside here. Where is it?

Did Evan Mathis have stellar tape? Evan Mathis is just a combine hero huh?

You're legitimately just copy pasting other people's opinions as your own. Look at the tangible evidence, the kid is a baller. Combined with being highly coachable, you can't go wrong. You could say he doesn't have the production in college, but honestly dude, that doesn't matter. Getting coached by college coaches, having to do academics at the same time... A lot of good all that production did players like mark Barron and darqueze dennard huh? Just because you're good in college doesn't mean it will translate. I'd be willing to bet there are more players who were average in college but tearing up the NFL than there are players that dominated both. Consider this: http://mobile.sportingnews.com/article/2511081-nfl-draft-2012-first-round-disappointments

From 2002-2012, only 31 percent of all players drafted in the first round made a pro bowl.

17% made multiple pro bowls.

The draft is mostly a crap shoot man, you're basically just betting on a player to be good, and sure fire greatness is a generational rareness (see manning, luck, ????) there's been like 2 in my lifetime.

You have to bet based of the info you can measure. Jones' measurables are of the charts. His intangibles: off the charts. The only box left unchecked is his development, but when you consider that literally every player in the draft also has this box unchecked, development is equally unknown for everyone and thus becomes irrelevant. Byron jones is a grade A prospect at a position of need. We'd be lucky to get him at 20. Don't be surprised if he gets taken before that even.
