It blows my mind that total cunts like that somehow manage to snag women. Not just in the short term... you married the guy...

How does a total bastard like that convince, what seems like, an intelligent and put together woman.

A woman with those two qualities and even just average looks has her pick of the dating pool. (Not at all to infer that it was your fault or anything) how does one end up with a guy like that???

I just don’t get it. Perhaps it’s because I’m a man, but if one of my girlfriends ever hit me I would be gone in a second. Relationship over permanently, “get the fuck out or you’re getting an ass beating” type reaction.

Im a decent lookin dude, with what I like to think is a good personality, but I have somewhat of a hard time with relationships. I’d still be gone without a second thought.

So being a woman and thus having a (relatively of course) easy time finding a new partner, why did it take multiple violent episodes to realize you needed to go?

Truly not trying to put any sort of blame or attack you or anything. I’d just like to understand how an absolute asshole managed to convince you he was good enough to stick around for after he actually hit you. If you’re not comfortable talking about it that’s totally fine too :)
