Need to hire bookkeeper for startup law firm. Average monthly cost?

Trust accounting is no more complicated than any other type of bookkeeping so don’t listen to anything otherwise. Anyone who is a good accountant or a good bookkeeper will be just as good at trust or legal accounting and if they don’t have experience in that exact industry they prob have experience in property management accounting non profit accounting all which are the exact same type of accounting. If you want to get the biggest bang for your buck find a cpa or full service accounting practice that will roll in ur taxes with ur monthly bookkeeping needs that way it’s more valuable. Firms like mine even include your quickbooks subscriptions with our monthly rate and we based on your specific financial situation we find a number your happy with and you lock in that rate for 12 months.

I find that it’s not the rate that small business owners have issue with it’s the fact that they don’t like surprises and tax bills that are slapping them across the face from a cpa and end of the years and when they catch up bookkeeping and send you a bill for 6 months or work at once it is what is most unaffordable. Cash flow kills small businesses and they will pay more if they know they can count on the amount every months for 6 months being the same without surprises and including everything from date entry to corporate tax prep.
