(New video) Go ahead, make my day....

Whether or not I agree with your assertion depends on exactly whom we're talking about.

If you're referring to the political left at large, then I suppose what you're saying may be true regarding the overarching agenda to dismantle the "Patriarchy" (i.e. Western culture) by whatever means necessary. Though the most extreme expressions of leftist ideology certainly cast this theory in a perfectly plausible light, I personally have not done enough research to confidently back it as the most credible explanation.

But if we're talking about the typical college kid carrying on like an infant at ol' Jordie's talks, I'm skeptical that their version of leftist ideology runs that deep, philosophically speaking. I think the vast majority of these delicate little snowflake pupils hops on board the Marxist Express primarily to inhabit the romanticized role of the righteous victim/tragic hero which social justice activism presents to their psyches (or, I suspect for at least a few of the dudes, to get laid by said imaginary tragic heroes).

...Admittedly I have no real concrete evidence to back this perspective up, and it could even be simply my own psychological projection onto the behavior of my peers. But my intuition tells me that these kids are just searching desperately for some real purpose in their lives, a raison d'etre, if you will, that they can cling to and let guide them through the extremely formative years they're experiencing in real-time; which of course is an incredibly relatable desire, perhaps even universal. And the mission of being perfectly nice and enthusiastically accepting of everyone you meet is as pure a purpose as any, right?

The problem arises in the form of the social justice mob mentality that has swept over academia, particularly intensified over the last few years. The echo chambers that are university humanities departments (to which I can personally attest as an English major at a fairly affluent private school) have affirmed and reaffirmed this mission of unwavering niceness and acceptance so many times over that in these students' minds any idea remotely at odds with it can only be perceived as malignant intolerance in its purest form. And out of this crude dichotomy a very classic good guys vs. bad guys mentality emerges; and simply put, the good guys, by definition, can do no wrong.

I genuinely believe most of these kiddie protesters have pure intentions at heart (except for the dudes just trying to get laid, they're douchebags); they've just gotten so swept up in the pursuit of existential purpose that they unwittingly lost their sense of reason somewhere along the way. To use Jordie boy's favorite analogy, they've become mother bears behaving according to pure instinctual compassion and zero critical thinking. We can only hope that their more advanced cognitive faculties are restored over time...but it's an uncertain prospect in a society that seems to be incrementally capitulating to radical niceness every day.

Whatever, I'm just rambling. Maybe I'm dead wrong. These are just my candid thoughts on the situation.
