Brilliant post, very insightful.

I’m constantly wondering about the narcissism problem that we’re facing in the west, too. You might think that since devolving into nihilism, each individual would see themselves as insignificant; a being with no more worth any other animal, destined to an eternity of nothingness so why bother with trivial things like meaning and truth?

But, since society as a whole now doesn’t care about meaning, virtue, living a life with principles and all that sort of stuff, it’s only made us more selfish. This is why we’re seeing such tribal behaviour, right? These groups of hateful and bitter people, who are brimming with narcissism and are full of self-loathing and nihilism, are bandying together and lashing out at the world because they are spiritually bankrupt and devoid of the morality and virtue that spirituality/god (whatever you wanna call it), once provided.

I’m just thinking out loud here and trying to get some ideas flowing. What’s your opinion OP?
