I had a non-mental health pharmacy situation: I got a coupon that gave me 180 tablets in one bottle (6 month worth) for $4

When I got home the pharmacy decided to increment them out monthly (the Rx was a transfer of 180 tablets and one rifill. So I called them up, and after a bit of attitude, I just said, "I'll be by in ten minutes for the 150 tablets you owe me."

Basically they were treatting me like an idiot. We can give him 180 for $4 now, or we could get $4 for this one and the other five refills ae 19.00 each. ($15 coupon). And the ATTITUDE I got. "you usually get 30 days worth..." "but the transfer prescription said 180 tablets."

I don' think doctors or pharmacists know ow much drugs cost!

"Here is a brand new drug that you may have sever side effects with, but it's new. So that is what I'm prescribing!"

"Hold on doc, I only use medications that have had time to show they are defective. Are you trying to Vioxx me?"

"[atttitude] We'll "doctor" what then should I prescribe? And I tell them, they come back with 4 more deaths per 1000000 people but cost $100 a month more.

At this point I remind them of the Episode where Elaine on Seinfeld was listed as "difficult" on her "Permanent Medical Record" …. I get that. But I also don't waste hundreds of dollars on something that might make me very ill (see the Vioxx example). I'm a research scientist, don't try to M.D. your way out of this.
