People usually want to become pro footballers for little other reason than the wealth, so I would say there is a distinct role that the players play in perpetuating the inequality. If they had decency they would donate the money to charity, not buy 50 SUVs. Marcus rashford is perhaps the exception to the seemingly endemic lack of morality, but he's still too rich to not be complicit.

But then again, consumption and capital are encoded into our society, and it's also the fault of society, but at what point does the individual responsibility take over and social responsibility end? In my opinion, money and influence, when you become rich and/or influential, you are a much bigger part of the problem than the working man buying an arsenal shirt, and even playing commercially at all in my.opinion just encourages the owners to continue to bleed the poor dry.
