A note to Recruiters

Got this in my LinkedIn inbox a couple of days ago:

SUBJECT: Where are you?

Hi jaynoj,

I hope you are well and having a great week.

No doubt, you are curious about the subject line of this Inmail. I googled 'eye catching email subjects' and this came up as the seventh best - the six before it, in my opinion, weren't great.

The reason I am trying to get your attention is simple. I know from looking at your profile that you have very strong experience in consulting, with experience in Microsoft technologies. At this point in time I am actively working a number of very senior roles with Microsoft Gold Partners that i was keen to discuss with you.

In short, I would be really grateful if you could spare me a few minutes at some point today or tomorrow. I would like to run through with you the market, who's recruiting, what they are offering in terms of progression, career development, position and packages. To save you from wasting time I will say that my focus is purely on permanent positions and although the roles I mention above are in consulting, I also have several end user roles. At this point I am keen to open lines of communication with you, understand more about you and your requirements so that I can make sure you are aware of specific opportunities that you would find appealing.

Please do let me know if there would be a convenient time to discuss and the best way for me to reach you.

Thanks for reading the above; I very much appreciate your time.

All the Best

They're obviously just fishing for people's CV's and contact details to put on their books. I have a number of positions available is recruiter speak for I have no jobs, so I'm trying to get more people on the books.

I cannot abide recruiters. They're so full of shit, they have to carry a shovel around with them just so they can dig themselves out of the massive pile that collects when they stop somewhere any length of time.
