trump uses emotions such as hate and anger.
trump supporters don’t deal with facts, they deal with emotions.
It’s happened before. Look at Germany in the ‘30’s. It’s the same thing.
People can be united around what is termed a ‘superordinate goal’. In Germany it was hating Jews and other groups - basically anyone who wasn’t pure blooded Aryan. It did not happen overnight. In America, it started hating Hillary Clinton and then moved on to hating Obama. It is now moving on to hating liberals.
If trump is re-elected (like happened in Germany), continuing to give him the bully pulpit of the presidency, it will get worse and worse.
If for some reason you don’t think it will get worse, you need to explain why any leader got less hateful over time. Power corrupts and trump started out very corrupt.
This election is very, very important.
