This might be a language barrier on my behalf. The people who owned the dogs that mated?

There are very few licensed people who sell purebreds in my state. There's a problem with Amish breeders and back yard breeders, fueled by pet stores in neighboring towns that sell anything that managed to get registered. Stores buy these pups for smaller amounts in bulk and resale for $1000. Though registered, these dogs are often inbred and/or poor quality.

The dog breeding trade is linked to the methamphetamine trade. Indiana is a very impoverished state. We aren't glad we moved here.

Here's an article about attempted legislation to unlicensed breeding. It failed in state supreme court. Something needs to be done to stop it.

I "retired" as a dog foster parent a few years ago Most of my life, I've fostered up to 6 dogs at a time. Now, I contribute my efforts through working with advocacy groups.
