It's baffling how this is so hard to accept for most people. Especially so when every instance of rich people chicanery is either memoryholed or actively disputed, excused, and downplayed. They'll do anything, besides call a spade a spade and acknowledge the source of their problems.

It's like our world is held together solely by copium from people who think billionaires are like us, and if there's even a 0.001% chance they'll have a seat at the table with them one day, they take it as an absolute certainty. Of course they'll let the wealthy treat the world like it's a big toybox. They don't want those pesky poors to be able to fight back when it's their turn.
