hellohelp Citizen neighbour keeps calling cops for no reason, can we do something to safeguard ourselves Other laws A friend and their family live in a big society in Mumbai for some years now. They have a neighbour in the below floor who is a senior citizen and has working children(husband-wife duo) SC is wifes mother.

She stays alone most of the day and is paranoid in general. This paranoia has led her to call the cops on my friend multiple times for things such as dog is barking, music is too loud, they are walking too loudly etc. Cops too have identified the pattern but have to show up because she calls 100. Almost a weekly occurrence of cops at my friends place. This has led to a point of harassment for friend and family. Friends mother gets extremely worried in such situations.

Is there any action or legal order my friend can take to safeguard themselves? Their worry is if at all something has to happen to the lady, there will be multiple complaints shown up under their name in Police records.

Friend and father are headed to the Police station today to get their opinion, anything legally that can be done?
