Only spears allowed in realistic campaigns lol

You could argue that the situation that made for gender dynamics exists still in fantasy.

If a society loses 90% of men in battle, they'll be okay in a generation. If a society loses 90% of women in battle, they'll be dead in a generation.

Obviously, its not fun to play a game with this in mind, but as a DM who likes to think about all these social dynamics I think its fair to at least talk about.

Once, I made a sea raider based society where only men could go on raids, but only women could own land or property. So it was a dynamic where men ruled at sea, but women ruled at home. I thought it was a fun concept for a different culture.

Once, I was running a Game of Thrones style campaign so I included sexism, but I made it so sexism only really applied to the peasants. Rules didn't apply to the nobles. Kinda like how Arya and Lyana and Brienne could be exceptions to the rules. I actually got that idea from how actual noblemen treated homosexuals. Peasants got punished, but the nobles where just subject to rumors and more or less considered 'above' the law. And the girl in our group enjoyed being able to flaunt her status and I let her play up 'beating' the men at their own game with full on "Ah, but I am no man" levels of cheese.
