OOF! Shots fired!!!

What they are suggesting is that good cops get kicked out, harassed, or left for dead in dire situations when they are in a corrupt police force.

One of my closest friends is a former cop. He left his original department because he helped the feds investigate them and they tried to retaliate. He moved to another department in a different state, worked there for a little and decided he was done because he was seeing the same shit.

Mind you these are just my personal anecdotes but they seem to line up with the bigger picture. Cops have a long history of being institutionally corrupt. Sometimes they are able to do good things, however they are often trained not to.

I have also been arrested because I "fit the description" Often they don't even manage their due diligence. Having also done time in my childhood I have seen how police and by extension the prison system works to tear apart families and communities.

Are there good cops? sure, I haven't met 'em but Ive seen them on the internet. At this point though, even though I live a squeaky clean life, I am more afraid of police then I am of some rando robbing/raping/killing me. I also work at a place that has been robbed at gunpoint during the time Ive been working there. (store was robbed at gun point and my shift started 20 minutes later so I only saw the fall out and my shaken up co worker)
