Opinion: Hillary Clinton still doesn't get "what happened" in the 2016 election

Another reason these Obama voters defected to Trump is that they kept hearing from Clinton and the Democrats how great the economy was doing. Yet, according to Priorities USA Action, “50 percent of Obama-Trump voters said their incomes are falling behind the cost of living, and another 31 percent said their incomes are merely keeping pace with the cost of living.” When Clinton touted Obama’s economic progress, she seemed hopelessly out of touch.

And yet now that Trump is in office, the economy is suddenly the best it's ever been. When Hillary says the economy is doing great, she's out of touch because people's wages aren't keeping up with inflation. The sad part is, they're both right. They difference is that Hillary supported things like a minimum wage increase, whereas Trump imports foreigners to work for slave wages.

I get what the author is trying to say, but his desperate attempt to defend Trump voters is really reaching at times. The fact is, this election was about change and not the kind of change Obama was talking about in '08. People were sick of the establishment bullshit in Washington and the DNC offered up the most established establishment candidate Washington had to offer. She had a controversial past and it didn't help she spent a year being torn apart by the liberal Jesus Christ. Hillary still should have been able to overcome the hole her past and her competition put her in, but she ran an ineffective campaign and completely avoidable scandal after completely avoidable scandal eventually sunk her chances.

I think it's time she moved on. The Democratic Party has very few leaders at the moment and she and her ego take up a lot of room and attention.
