Oregon tenants owe hundreds of millions of dollars in back rent, PSU study finds

This has happened before in 1929/1930. Millions were left homeless, jobless. Its sucks, it really does. But its not the responsibility of the human race to ensure everyone has a perfect life. Life is rough, life is unfair and if we keep adding debt to your children by financing everyone who has a downturn, then the future generations will have nothing left.

As much as people hate it, the same government and laws that you are wanting to use to "cancel rent" also protects people who own land and houses. Unless we change our country to a absolute monarchy, home owners and landlords have rights too. We can't say we are trying to be a inclusive and fair society if we pick and choose who has rights or not.
