I live in Yokohama and am playing through Snatcher right now on my PCE mini. I'm about five hours in and am actually preferring the English Sega CD version. The downside to actually learning the language is that you come to the realization that the Japanese language audio track doesn't always equal better language track. Both the original Japanese and dubbed English tracks are both equally "meh" (often the case with any 90s video game, but people somehow think the Japanese track is better because they have no idea what the people are saying hence can't observe the awfulness). The non-CD audio tracks (which is most of the in-game music) are waaaay better on the Sega CD version; there's almost no comparison. The Sega CD intro is also better. So besides 2 seconds of boobs, there is really no benefit to playing the PCE version over the Sega CD one. I can see wanting to play it from the viewpoint of curiosity though, and it is unfortunate that no translated version will likely see the light of day.
