Fair point. I don’t know of anyone who’s had a problem but my thought process is that the nail that sticks out the most is the one that gets hammered down (whenever they do start to care/do something about torrenting), with a seedbox it’s unlikely to be me. Its really not necessary (although its quite comfortable for me).

Another benefit of Seedboxes is that you can get into private trackers and maintain decent ratios (even if you delete stuff after a while) and that just saves you a lot of time going trough crappy sites looking for a torrent with decent quality while voiding pop-ups. On private trackers you find everything, well tagged and with good quality/encodes. This might or might not be worth it depending on the your use case.
