A prediction about the 'Modding' API...

There is no Mojang any more.

What we have now is a subsidiary of Microsoft, which is populated by a small group of programmers, who sound exclusively like corporate call center operators, as opposed to actual humans.

Notch sold the company to Microsoft quickly, because at the time, the only thing he was thinking about was taking himself out of the crosshairs of the Twitter hate machine as quickly as possible. Microsoft gave him a few billion, which for them was chump change, and that was that.

Microsoft never preserve acquired assets, and they certainly never do anything to positively improve said assets' health. Their corporate strategy is exclusively scorched Earth, and it has been ever since the company's founding. The only thing they are ever interested in doing to anything they acquire, is running it into the ground while extracting whatever short term profit from it that they can; and you can rest assured that that is exactly what they are doing in this case.

Minecraft is effectively over at this point, and was as soon as the acquisition happened. The game is in the same state that a chicken is in, when you cut off its' head and it still keeps running around for a few minutes, before the last remaining nerve impulses expire. 1.7.10 will be the last major release. I don't care what numbers they post; the current dev team will never produce anything other than bug fixes, or minor content additions at the most. They simply do not care, and they have not been employed to do so.

You can downvote me as much as you want for this post, but I do not care because I am right, and I know I am. I am nearly twice as old as the majority of people who either post in this sub, or play Minecraft. Bill Gates only founded the company three years before I have born, and I have watched what it has done throughout my lifetime. Many of you probably were not around for the Halloween Documents, which described not only what they wanted to do to Linux, but which they and Red Hat now very largely have.

This is also most likely the most honest statement you will read about this issue. I virtually never encounter anyone on this web site who is remotely interested in real truth. Favourable lies and spin are all 99% of you care about. Mainstream humanity is increasingly becoming a group that I want absolutely nothing to do with, because you generally have no real integrity whatsoever.
