Quebec still struggling to vaccinate workers in long-term care homes, leaving most vulnerable at risk

Vaccines are available but many workers don't want it.

There is a reason: The contrast with Saguenay–Lac-Saint-Jean (80% vaccinated) where most people have been born in Quebec and Montreal & Laval (49%) where a significant percentage of the workers come from immigration cannot be clearer.

There is a lot of education left to be done concerning vaccines. Some people may have been born in countries where the government cannot be trusted, some may just lack the information that would allow them to make an informed choice and some, even, believe is all sorts of traditional remedies and/or ancestral beliefs they deem better than science.

Just grab the classified section of your local newspaper:

In the Montreal Gazette, you can easily find classified ads for shamanic services, evil spirit removal, tarot reading, reaching to the dead... And much much more... Well if people offer those services, it is because there is a demand for it.

Scientific illiteracy is one of the most pressing problem in our society.
