r/Buddhism Casts women to hell who have an abortion- I think I'm no longer a Buddhist.

A lot of times it’s not a very difficult choice. I became accidentally pregnant once, and it was a very obvious and easy choice to have an abortion. I did view the bean-sized clump of cells as a potential life, but knew whoever that being was, it had extremely bad karma to wind up in my womb, since I would never have let it live. I didn’t feel guilty for having had sex, or having become pregnant, or ending the pregnancy. It was all very clear cut and undramatic. I felt relief afterwards, both for myself and the being, I would not have been able to carry a child at that time. A lot of times it is just a very calm and easy, obvious decision.
