Real Life Questions/Advice Week of 10/17-10/23

I’ll just add that it never LOOKED extreme to others. I didn’t miss school or get sick. I got good grades and was outgoing and did lots of activities. I was a happy kid! My parents like you probably thought any anxiety or perfectionism about school stuff would “buff out.” But now I know I really could have used their intentional, active support in working through it, and having them assure me that I am more than what happens at school, that they love me even if I mess up, that I don’t have to prove anything to anyone, etc. My mental health is probably above average at this point (ha) but that doesn’t mean I couldn’t have avoided some stress and heartache as a little kid with additional help from them.
