My mother in law is a Karen and her behavior has been a constant issue between my husband because she's a gross monster. Karen's ruin your life AND your family's life until they finally die (working hypothesis)

Example: Mother and father in law are dining out. The restaurant is a local chain and on this particular night they were hosting a "training" night for teenagers with special needs so they can get experience in a work environment. Chain makes patrons aware at the entrance so everyone knows what is going on. According to MIL, the teenagers were bothering her because they were "checking in to often," to see if she was finished with her plate. She complained to my husband about these kids for 3 days before calling the manager AND the chain's owner to complain about the special needs teenagers.

Again, she called the manager because disabled teens were being too helpful...
