Honestly I didn’t not understand the early game bad reviews. Yeah, there was a lot of jank to work through but the underlying economic, societal, and political simulation of the game is just flat out fun and not something that any other game on the market offers. War and the front system leave a LOT to be desired, but pretty much everything else is fun even in the janky release state of the game.

They just need to nail down a few key historical trends more accurately and the game will be great. Mainly Germany needs to actually form consistently, the US needs to stop colonizing Canada and Africa, and the migration system needs to be recalibrated so that the migrations that occur make more sense. Also they really need to do something about the allocation of arable land, because there is no reason France and Japan should have more arable land than Argentina, the US, or Brazil.
