Recently ex-FDS. Holy shit, I feel so DUPED. Really hope to build this subreddit up for other women soon to-come.

No, definitely do not believe all that. I certainly think the majority of that handbook is bullshit. Hence why I felt increasingly pressured to go along with it just to be accepted and not brandished a pickmeisha. Which is what eventually happened anyway.

I do feel like the community was what I was drawn to the most, seconded by standing up for oneself and not placing all value on men over my own dignity, esp when it came to relationships and sex. I agree with their point of view on most things related to sexism. I liked their Female Level Up Strategy subreddit, thought it had great potential. I like tht it's a supportive community of women who build each other up and encourage eachother to grow and pursue goals, hopes, and dreams. If it wasn't also infected with FDS then it would be perfect. I believe feminism is about true equality & that men shouldn't be shamed for "female qualities" because women are supposedly "inherently bad," and if they hate on men who aren't traditionally masculine in many ways that doesn't make them feminist. It seems hatred/stigmas against all gender identities, as well as sexual preference expressions, stem from misogyny. So they're pretty confused there.

As for how they view men, it always upset me to see all men reduced to their value as husbands as well as heavily traditional, conservative views on gender roles. The reasoning for some of it made sense when they said stuff like "women can't participate in casual hookups/sex/dating (and the like) in the way libfem sees it- not when we still live under traditional patriarchy, wage gap, etc., that it still devalues us in the eyes and minds of men." Essentially that we cannot do the same things as men and expect to be respected the same as men because we're not "there" yet. Unfortunately, some of that is true to a certain extent. However, I don't agree with their approach/solution to that problem, which is the HVM/LVM/NVM, be trad wife material but not a trad wife, be superficial with excessively high standards, toxicity, etc.
