When I was in elementary school and was 13 years old, I always spent recess with the kids in kindergarten. Also if I ever got sent to the office, instead of sending me home or doing something dumb, they'd send me to work in the kindergarten room. I remember clearly this beautiful little girl named Mariam. I forget where she was from, but she was Arabic and didn't know any English. For whatever reason, her and I really bonded. I was the only one she'd speak with, she wouldn't even talk to the teachers. Eventually her parents wanted to meet with me and they gave me this random bath set as a thank you and spoke with me about how much of an impact I've made on her and how she always talks about me and basically crediting me for all of her growth that year.

It wasn't necessarily the best, but it was meaningful. I still remember her. I wonder what she's up to.
