We all look for a selfhosted Google photos or icloud alternatives …But that is is way impossible as they have 1000s of developers working on those two while selfhosted apps are just a small group works .

Nah. They are not asking for a software to put in production a Google photo alternative where strangers sign up etc.

The scale is much different. Also, a lot of stuff that Google codes is for analyzing stuff to then make you see different ads, no one wants that in the alternative.

It’s not that hard to code. The real issue is, in the case of iOS, that the photo app has special permissions for sync while a third party app not, so it’s going to have some sync issues. Except that, I really can’t find other reasons.

(Btw a lot of people in Google just have bullshit jobs, they are not producing anything)
