[Request] Get well soon Card [Your Location] England

Hello...firstly thank you for your response....please accept my apologies for the delay in replying...I have been away(my sister is pregnant...the due date...um..VERY SOON!! hence the somewhat panic & trying to do my best in regards to being a good/decent/"meh he's okay" type of brother).

Sorry for the confusion...the card is not for me....but for my friend...who is in hospital at the moment..."healing up".

Because of everything that she has done for me...I thought nothing of sending her a card when I heard the news....a well chosen Card with a thoughtful message...however I somehow stumbled upon this subreddit...& after accustoming myself to the kindness & generosity that is plentiful in this subforum.....I thought perhaps...more cards= more encouragement...which can only be a positive thing right?

I try & think of things from different perspectives(to acheive a better understanding)....however I think that if I were in her (unfortunate)position....a lot of cards with nice messages...would bring a smile to my face...or numerous smiles even ha :)

Yes...in regards to the fluffy part...perhaps I could have explained it a little better...my use/grasp of language is not great sometimes...in fact...this is one of the reasons I think cards from others is such a great idea...as I cannot put into words what needs to be said in the correct moment/context...whereas others seem to be excellent at doing so..it is in fact a skill...well...I think it is definitely as a beautiful card....poignant message....at the right time...can mean so much...words cannot begin to describe.

The friend is an older woman(middle aged) and I am 30...so she is like a Mother/maternal type figure to me....the reason for the fluffy remark...was that...I know every time I step foot into a card shop I am greeted & perhaps somewhat overwhelmed?! by ribbons....bears...lots of bears...generally feminine things(which is not a negative btw)...however I feel a card with such iconography would not accurately represent our relationship...which is one of mutual respect....one of gratitude..and one of appreciation.

Maybe this(quite rightly) reflects my ineptitude at manoeuvring my way around a card shop.....something I am working on advancing...& duly hope to improve on(fingers crossed) :)

The address to myself... is because...I am not sure in regards to the hospital in question...& their card policy...plus the fact I am sure they are likely inundated with mail/postage....if the card is mailed to me...I can deliver it myself...give it that personal touch :)

It doesn't have to be anything extraordinary....just something to put a smile on someone's face....a someone who has had a major impact on my life...and in this time of need....I just wish to do the best I can....and I just hope I am going the right way about it?!...and hopefully not look like too much of a fool(well...not more than usual anyway ha) :)

Sorry for the ramble....hopefully that has cleared things up a little?!

If not plz feel free to ask me any further questions...

I hope to be an active member of this subform...and will make sure to give back...so we can all benefit!!
