I hate it when patients try to bully me into ordering tests

As a patient who's been through the ringer when it comes to doctors not wanting to order tests based on my age alone, just order the gd tests. I finally got my doctor to after so much begging and what do you know? All sorts of things pointing towards autoimmune issues turned up. So you might not want to order tests willy nilly, but just make sure you're not ordering them for the right reasons, and not just because your ego is so big you think because they aren't within what ever age range or have the really rare symptom that could also point towards nothing or something entirely different from what they're asking that you just think what they ask is silly or unnecessary.

Patients generally respond better to your care plan if you've listened to them also. So while you don't wanna just give them meds or antibiotics at their behest and you definitely shouldn't, there's really no harm in ordering tests at their behest. It'll go a long way in how they listen to and respect your medical opinion.
