Like anything else in the reality and world we live in, anything good can be twisted and bastardized by hate and greed. Free speech back in the 70's was in the spirit of allowing the people to speak out about the evils in society and to progress and do something about it.

Now, the rotten apples have taken the free speech ideology and used it as an excuse to manipulate and spread lies and fear. I'm not interested in political correctness, and anyone can have their different political and cultural views, but if you think that free speech is an allowance for bullying, throwing insults at people who are different from you, or using lies and inaccuracies to forward a dark cause, then you do not have the soul of the free speech demonstrators in the 70s.

Also, I can tell from this post that many who will comment on here will not be a fan of free speech. Abuse of free speech is not free speech.

As for protestors against Trump, there's a whole garden variety of people who are not only not his biggest fans, but see him as a threat. He is not an advocate for free speech when every other thing that comes out of his mouth is a lie. Also, I have nothing against peaceful protestors, but if only just more than half of Americans voted and more votes went to the Democrats, then why the hell was Trump elected? Also, I'm sure I wouldn't see many of you guys complaining if it went the other way around and Trump called for a recount or accused the system of voter fraud. Hypocrisy is a funny thing, it depends how you see it, it's hard to avoid, and it would be ironically hypocritical to thing you guys are free from hypocrisy.
