I see you got tagged as a pussy. Did you know that when you cut a chickens head off it can run around for upwards of 5 minutes as all the blood in their body is pumped out of their neck like a fountain? That is if it is killed on a small farm. I have no idea how a chicken is killed in a factory farm scenario but I do know plenty die of heat exhaustion before they are killed and the conditions are horrendous.
You know why you are a pussy? Because instead of being a fucking man and making yourself face these realities you pretend like you have no effect on this sort of thing and act indigent when others show you your hypocrisy.
I have lived with vegans. I cooked meat when I lived with those vegans. They were not exactly 100% on board, in fact when I moved in (we were friends) they attempted to ban meat from the kitchen. Thing is, what they protest (cruel treatment of animals, the "rape", and all of their other reasons for being vegan fall flat when you know exactly where your fucking meat comes from. When you KNOW what the process was, you have experienced it for yourself. I took them to my friends farms and they were amazed (seeing as they all grew up in a big ass city) at how clean it was, how peaceful and how much land the cows, horses and chickens had to roam in. What they were fed and how they were treated. It didn't change any of them back to being meat eaters but they did accept that there were ways eating meat could be considered ethical.
I don't buy it in a supermarket, I buy it from friends and family that own farms. I know I am lucky but it doesn't change the fact that I have killed many of the animals I have eaten. I have gutted them, skinned or stripped the feathers from them, I have cut deer, cow or chicken into pieces myself. I know that animal lived as great a life as any domestic animal could have lived, they are like pets kind of. I have also been on a slaughterhouse floor for beef and pork and let me tell you......what you support is pretty disgusting. This is the reason crazy nut jobs like PETA exist, because those places are pretty outrageous. The giant feed lots, the actual killing floor....all of it.
This is why people shit on you for it, because you are willfully blind to the realities of factory farming and you think by not "doing the killing" you are some how absolved from the whole thing. You are the exact type of person anyone with any reasonable opinion on the matter could hate with ease. I am not saying become a vegan or a vegetarian. I am saying you need to grow a pair and stop acting like vegans are all insane when you cannot even stomach thinking about where your meat comes from and then you act like you are a total innocent when a vegan comments to you about the subject.
