Schulz Saves America Release Thread: Opinions, praise, hate, etc.

I enjoyed it. He is a really good joke writer but I still prefer his off the cuff stuff in his stand up and flagrant 2 episodes. Its more mainstream friendly than the Schulz I got into but it's not heavily censored, he takes shots at Netflix even though they paid for it. Imagine Rogan doing that to spotify. Its not a special and its not a podcast so I don't think its fair to compare it to either.

The pacing is interesting though. It is very fast, it makes you miss a few of the jokes which is frustrating but I do wonder if there is an element to the speed of the delivery that helps it's social commentary angle. I'm not American, I love shitting on Trump and Biden so this was fun. But If you were watching as a casual American viewer, like someone who doesn't listen to flagrant but has a netflix account and stumbled on this, you wouldn't even have the time to be sit and be offended at his shots on your side of an issue, because he follows up immediately with an equally offensive shot at the other side that you might really like. The ultimate theme of these episodes is look at the bigger picture and that both sides can be wrong. The fact that an average viewer literally cant stew on a point because theres no time, no bias and the shots are well thought out is actually a good concept in modern media, might open some minds.

Shitting on both sides with offensive jokes is obviously not a new concept, plenty of podcasters/comedians do so every week, but presenting it like this on a major streaming service is. I think he did a really good job. Keen to get back to the regular podcast schedule though please.
