I had a dude I met in a bar try to pull this shit on me. It was supposed to be a one night stand and when he drove me home the next day he asked me if I wanted to move in with him rent free (he had a nice apartment), he offered to give me his car (it was a newer Honda Civic), and even told me that he could get me a job at the bar I go to all the time (he was a well known/well liked door guy in town). I asked for none of it. Never even made hints that I wanted any of it. He was cute (that’s why I went home with him in the first place) but if he had waited a few months I might have taken him up on it. As it was, it was way too much too soon. Although he did end up getting me an interview at the bar, I didn’t get the job because I suck as a waitress.

I ran into a mutual friend a few months after and she told me that he always gets pretty intense when he meets a girl he likes and scares them off. I felt kind of bad, but like I said, if he had waited and just dated me like a normal person, I might have taken him up on his offers.
